Nordic Hotdog
Gourmet hotdogs and other Danish classics
At Nordic Hotdog, Asgers Jørgensen serves up gourmet hot dogs with a great attention to detail. The focus is on local ingredients and the toppings are homemade.
The classic Danish hot dog was first served in Copenhagen on 18 January 1921 as a sausage with day-old bread and ketchup. In the years that followed, a myriad of different toppings were added, and Asger has since taken it to a new level.
He didn't get his passion for quality hot dogs from strangers. In 1989, his grandmother opened the family business 'Grethe’s Sausages'. The concept was simple: bread from the neighbouring baker and sausages from the local butcher.
In 2019, Asger humbly followed in his grandmother's footsteps and opened Nordic Hotdog at Reffen, where he also serves his new Nordic take on other Danish classics, such as crispy pork and beef sandwiches.
Asger's dishes are also available in vegan and vegetarian versions, and he has halal sausages on the menu too. He wants everyone to have the opportunity to try his Danish street food wonders.
