We love Copenhagen, colourful flavours and connecting with everyone from everywhere

We came to life on a dusty and neglected harbourside lot, surrounded by run-down workshops and warehouses. Today, we’re the largest street food market in Northern Europe and a cultural hotbed with tons of sweet-sounding events throughout the season.

We love Copenhagen, colourful flavours and connecting with everyone from everywhere, and we strive to ensure that Reffen is always a fun and welcoming place that stimulates all the senses and offers people of all ages an excellent time out of the ordinary.

A hotbed of new entrepreneurs: young chefs and artisans

Reffen is a hotbed of new entrepreneurs: young chefs and creative artisans offering their delights to curious minds and taste buds.

All stall and workshop owners are carefully selected for their concept, quality and skills, and many are family businesses. We give them the chance to start their own business and help them develop and stay at the top through guidance and knowledge sharing. The goal is for them to learn to stand on their own two feet and become excellent entrepreneurs.

Cosmopolitan

container city

Designed to blend in with its maritime and industrial surroundings, Reffen has a deliberately klondike aesthetic with a strong emphasis on reuse. Most of the structures are made from recycled materials, and all the permanent stalls are old containers that could no longer be used for shipping. Now they’re functioning street food kitchens, each with the feel and look of the country that’s cooking in it.

More than 75 used shipping containers, four old German fire trucks and several worn-out vans make up the main building blocks of Reffen. The result is a colourful and cosmopolitan container city on the waterfront with streets, narrow alleyways and sun-drenched breathing spaces just waiting to be explored.

Klub Werkstatt

We have breathed new life into an old, neglected engine workshop and transformed it into Werkstatt – a bar and nightclub brimming with industrial history, contemporary art and good vibes.
