Reffen
Brewery
where great craftsmanship and quality ingredients become liquid gold

Passion, ideas and
Sparkling brews
In the heart of Reffen’s vibrant beer triangle, you’ll find our very own Reffen Brewery – a small-scale brewery with a big love for beer. Here, unique and flavorful beers are brewed in small batches, where skilled craftsmanship and top-notch ingredients come together in perfect harmony. Throughout the season, we launch more than 10 different beers, putting Reffen firmly on the beer map – one golden drop at a time.
A small brewery
with big ambitions
Big flavours come from a small space at Reffen Brewery – a microbrewery in the most literal sense, built inside a single container ... which we've slightly expanded.
Despite its compact size, the brewery is fully equipped with everything it needs, from milling, to mashing and conditioning in its four 1000-litre tanks – and of course, plenty of brewing passion. We can brew up to four different types of beer simultaneously, and thanks to the compact layout, heat circulates naturally, keeping energy consumption low.
The mill spins upstairs, sending freshly crushed malt straight down into the brew kettles. And the brewing leftovers don’t go to waste – they’re turned into compost, helping to create even more flora and fauna between our containers at Reffen. Who knows – maybe a homegrown herb will one day find its way into one of our brews. A little beautiful system of beer, plants, and container creativity.
Taste big flavours from small surroundings. Our beers are served right next door in Reffen’s Beer Garden and Beer House.
Our Brew

Meet the brewmaster and his collaborator
Behind each of our beers at Reffen Brewery are Alex and James – two passionate beer lovers who turn ideas into bold, sparkling brews.
Alex is the seasoned brewmaster with years of experience on the Copenhagen beer scene – expertise that now flows directly into Reffen Brewery. When he’s not at the kettles here, he runs his own gypsy brewery, which he founded in 2019, and co-owns a craft beer shop. In short: beer isn’t just his job – it’s his way of life.
By his side is James – the talented collaborator who has built up an impressive knowledge of beer and brewing through many years in the bar & restaurant industry including at Reffen, hands-on courses, home brewing and – most importantly – by working closely with Alex in our brewery.
Together, they make a great team, crafting everything from crisp pilsners and fruity wheat beers to fragrant IPAs and rich, dark ales.
They love geeking out over recipes, sharing tasters, and hearing what you think of their brews. So drop by for a chat about hops – or catch them at one of our beer events at Reffen. There’s always a good story and a cold beer on tap.
Events at

James and Alex don’t just make beer – they also brew up events, where beer naturally takes centre stage. From beer releases and brewery tours to tasting sessions – and not least Bajerklubben, where they pour golden drops and share their knowledge along the way.
