Come and celebrate the second Sunday of Advent at Reffen Skøjteøen with Aktion Børnehjælp, and help create the world's largest Christmas heart, which can be seen at Reffen throughout December.
Aktion Børnehjælp is a small organization with big ambitions. Through close collaboration with local partners, they select and run projects that create real change and work to ensure rights and sustainable access to health and education for India's most vulnerable children and their families.
On the second Sunday of Advent, you can contribute to the big joint Christmas heart project by decorating your own little Christmas heart and hanging it up. You can also make Christmas hearts to take home for your tree – completely free of charge.
In addition, you can decorate and paint your own flower pot, which will serve as a seed bank. You can take it home with you – perhaps as a Christmas gift for someone you care about. The seed bank workshop is open to anyone who wishes to make a donation to Aktion Børnehjælp.
There will be an opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts from Aktion Børnehjælp, including a nutrition garden or a mini membership.
At the bar, you can buy hot chai lattes for a donation of your choice, which you can enjoy while Christmas music fills the room from the talented jazz duo.
We are also lucky enough to have visits from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus himself every Sunday during Advent, who stop by and spread Christmas cheer. Tell Santa your wish, have your picture taken, and join in the fun story reading by Mrs. Claus.
