Reffen Brown Ale

Winter is drawing to a close, and at Reffen Brewery, our two beer aficionados, Alex and James, have brewed a classic English brown ale to celebrate the shift into spring.

Aside from locally sourced water, this liquid delight is crafted with 100 % English ingredients – right down to the yeast. The beer shows a medium‑light body and a beautifully malt‑forward profile. Flavours of pale and lightly kilned malts bring notes of fresh bread and biscuit, followed by gentle caramel and a subtle touch of burnt sugar.

With only one hop addition, the low bitterness lets the malt complexity take centre stage, resulting in a balanced, sessionable beer at 4.2 % ABV and a soft, rounded finish.
